Pizza Crust
My mother's pizza crust recipe - the family's friday night favorite
For almost every Friday and almost every party that I can remember,
we had my mother's homemade pizza crusts.
Sometimes we helped her roll them out,
sometimes we made them, just us kids,
and sometimes we just let the scent waft through the house.
Ingredients
- 1 package yeast (1 tablespoon = 1 package)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 2+1/2 cup flour
- 2 Tablespoon oil (you can use olive oil and add spices to taste. ex. oregano leaves)
Steps
- Disolve first 3 ingredients with the warm water
- Add 2 cups flour to wet mixture
- Stir until combined
- Add oil. Work through dough until oil is mostly absorbed
- Add remaining flour until dough is smooth
- Let rest/rise for x 10 minutes
- With floured fingers, work dough onto a greased pan
- Prebake at 425 until golden
- Makes 2 x ~12'' crusts
- Ready to top, bake and enjoy!
